This type of system is usually dictated by the egress pathway through a visibly marked EXIT door. These types of installations always allow for egress of a door during a building emergency or fire alarm situation while securing the access-controlled door. This method works by securing a door with a special type of lock. This lock keeps the door secured until an access control situation is authorized. This system can be integrated with access control to allow for seamless security and used in the lockdown state by use of PIN Code, Key fob, or Key Card.

B. Turnstiles work with the technique that an entrance area can be used to count personnel as they come and go from a facility, and do not allow for tailgating of more than one user. This type of Access Controlled Door uses an intercom system that allows users to be permitted access to a door by a user or tenant. The intercoms can vary in types from Phone Based, Internet Based, or Station to Station models, but also allow access with the same type of function.

These access-controlled gates employ various methods of access control. Most commonly, they use Keypad Card Readers, Card Readers, Mobile Credentials, or Long-Range Vehicle Readers to allow a vehicle authorized access to a Gate. There are also strict safety codes that must be adhered to with Vehicle Gates, with safety controls being installed in a certain manner to meet industry safety standards. Intercom systems are also very commonly added to gate installations to allow authorized visitors as well.

This type of method is simply a lock release method that may be installed on a door to allow a person or receptionist to allow unlocking of a door by visual method or intercom system for the purpose of keeping the entrance door always secured.
